10 Ways To Know Your Workout Plan Is Perfect

By admin

Hi friends!

Have you wondered if what you’re doing is right? Is your workout a good workout? Is it what you need?

In the 80′s fitness choices were limited: weight lifting, running, and step aerobics. Now, there seems to be an infinite amount of choices to pick from for workout programs. I would name some but the list would be a blog post in itself. It can be overwhelming for sure!

Well, wonder no longer.

I thought it would be fun to share how to tell if the workout plan you are currently doing is a good match for you.

We are all different, and what works for me, might not work for you, and vice versa.

is your workout good?

10 Ways To Know Your Workout Plan Is Perfect (For You)

10. You get excited on workout days.

When it’s a workout day, you’re pumped and excited to get your workout going. Heck, maybe you even want to jump with joy!

It’s not a chore, you’re not filled with an overwhelming amount of anxiety, and it’s something that you look forward to. Chances are your friends/co-workers get tired of hearing about how you just love your workout routines.

9. At the end you’re not sure how you feel.

You’re not sure if you want to go run an extra mile because you’re on cloud 9 or if you want to crawl into bed for 30 minute to let your body rest. Your body says tired, but the extra blood flow and adrenaline tells you to go get out some more energy.

8. You find yourself planning what you’re going to wear the night before.

When you look forward to something, there is a natural tendency to plan ahead. Instead of just grabbing for something to wear, you suddenly find yourself caring about how you look when you’re working out. It’s like picking out an outfit for a date or your work attire before getting into bed.

7. You’re pushed to the limits, but not over.

No one wants to be walking around like a 90 year old woman 4 days after a tough workout. A good workout is one that makes you feel a workout… you might have muscle soreness for 24-48 hours, you might be physically tired, or you might feel “tight”, but it’s nothing you can’t handle. You aren’t in so much pain that workouts are skipped. Bottom line… pain is manageable.

6. You can tell you’re making progress.

Change doesn’t happen unless you make it happen. If you’re not working out to get better then what expectations do you have? Each workout should be focused on being better than the time before. That can mean doing more reps, using heavier weights, or working on form.

Stagnant workouts = bad workouts… progress occurs only by moving forward.

That’s why Dan and I are so adamant about doing the same workout for an entire week. That way you see yourself progressing and have a goal to achieve!

5. You have to remind yourself to chill out.

When you find a program that you love and that pushes you, you’ll feel the urge to want to do it more often. Trust me, I get it. If I could, I would workout every day. I love the way I feel after a workout and that feeling has me coming back for more. But, results come when you allow your body to recover and rest. Don’t neglect days off!

4. You see results.

The is what we all want, right? You want to look in the mirror and see new lines, new definition and perhaps a smaller waist. Well, if you’re seeing those things then clearly you’re doing something right!

3. You’re making changes in other aspects of your life.

A good fitness routine is a keystone habit. When you begin regularly exercising, you’re going to start feeling better about yourself and you’ll start thinking of other ways to improve your life. Perhaps you’ll notice yourself eating out less; eating more veggies and less pizza; going to be earlier and getting more hours of sleep; etc.

2. You feel confident.

No one likes feeling like the odd ball. Sure it is normal at the beginning, when you’re a “newbie” but after awhile, we want to feel like we are in control and know what we’re doing.

If you are in a constant state of “OMG, I can’t do this… I don’t look like everyone else… I just feel uncomfortable.” Then it might be time to consider other forms of fitness.  Trust me, there are so many to choose from!

 1. You’re in it for the long run.

You know that you’re doing something right if you’ve had the realization that this isn’t a fad. You aren’t working out just to drop 10 pounds or tone up your thighs. You are committed and excited to see where your fitness journey will take you.

One thing I want to stress is that you’re never stuck having to commit to just a single workout style. Mixing it up is fun, challenges your body, and is a great way to get to try out all the different options available.

For example, I love weight training, but right now I am into kettlebells and high intensity circuits. That’s just what I am into right now… doesn’t mean I won’t get back to barbells and heavy weight lifting soon. Or even that I won’t mix the two from time to time.

There are no “rules” to workouts…
