During the last week end of May 2011, Australia’s fittest men and women challenged themselves in a three-day ultimate fitness test at The 2011 Reebok Crossfit Games in Sydney Olympic Park. The Reebok CrossFit Games brings together elite athletes from around the world and gives them the chance to compete for their share of the US 00000 prize and the title of Fittest Man and Woman on Earth. T o make it to that level, athletes first had to qualify through the Reebok CrossFit Open, a specific series of fitness workouts done over the course of six weeks. Following six weeks of hard competition in the 2011 Australian Reebok CrossFit Games Open series, the top 60 fittest men, 60 women and 30 teams who qualified won their ticket to The Regional Games and competed head to head to get to the ultimate World’s Finale, to be held in July in Carson, California. At the center of the arena, the Games competitors had to prove that they are not only fit but capable of handling the unknown. The best movements to test for fitness are a combination of gymnastics, powerlifting, Olympic lifting, jumping rope, climbing ropes, lengthy runs, and a vast amount of pure grunt work such as getting sandbags over a wall. But athletes never know what is required. “The Reebok CrossFit Games are probably one of the most accessible elite sporting events on earth, both for participants as well as spectators” said Ben Kinnaird, marketing manager in Australia. “Most competitors started CrossFit as a way to
