HOMEMADE ROWING MACHINE AFFORDABLE SIMPLE INEXPENSIVE
By admin
For less than .00 build this heavy duty rowing machine with 3 pine studs 4 rigid casters 1 furring strip, a 12″ x 16″ piece of plywood a resistance tube set with handles (I later substituted 2 x 27″ bicycle innertubes for the resistance tubes) a few feet of parachute cord and a few deck screws. The only tools needed are a drill driver, a handsaw, and a yardstick.. This rowing motion has a very realistic sculling feel and the intensity level can easily be adjusted with multiple resistance cords to work the gastrocnemius, hamstrings quadraceps, rectus abdominis, brachioradialis, biceps, deltoids, triceps, rhomboids, erector spinae and gluteal muscle groups.. The unit is 60″ long and 16″ wide and 2 pieces. The short legs are optional to make it easier for an old man to sit on. The anchor point can also be fastened to a wall. The foot rest requires no straps since the resistance tubes pull you back to the starting gate. The only modification needed would be heavier duty casters for people over 300 lbs. the resistance cord set can even be substituted with cheaper bungee straps. The music is called “ROWING ON A RIVER BED” synthetic music by Matt Simon
