The colour and atmosphere around Frankston during the 2012 Ironman Asian Pacific Championships. Frankston hosted the swim and cycle leg of the race, before the athletes took on the marathon to complete the race in St Kilda. Australia’s world champ, Craig Alexander, won the men’s race, whilst the women’s was taken out by Swiss Caroline Steffen. Alexander completed the inaugural course in an electrifying 7hr 57min; the first time he’s broken the 8hr barrier. Steffen completed the course in 8:34.51, just over one minute shy of the world record time. The clip features great footage of the packed Frankston Pier and Waterfront.
