Surprising Chia Seed Benefits & How To Eat Them

By admin

Did you know that it wasn’t until about 30 years ago that chia seeds became known in North America? For centuries these little seeds had been an important source of nutrients for Aztecs and other Mexican indian tribes but us. It wasn’t until a scientist by the name of Wayne Coates began to study them in an effort to increase agriculture in Northern Argentina that they became a topic of nutritional conversation.

Why thank you, Dr. Coates!

Did you also know that chia seeds come from a flowering plant that is in the mint family?

Perhaps if I had ever owned a Chia Pet growing up, I would have suspected a relationship, but unfortunately there were no plant pets in my home.

Over the past 2 years chia seed popularity has sky-rocketed and more and more data is becoming available and bloggers every where are hyping these seeds up.

  • What’s so great about them?
  • How should you eat them?
  • How do them compare to another hyped up seed: Flaxseeds?
