Fitness Pro Alli McKee Explains How To Be A FITassance Woman
By admin
Remember how I mentioned that I had several amazing interviews last week for What The Fitness?
Well, I did.
And one of them was with the gorgeous and talented Alli McKee.
Alli is a personal trainer, figure competitor, fitness model, fitness writer, and all around fitness badass.
I loved talking with her because we had lot in common, one being that we don’t like to be held down with labels.
–>Is she a runner? Kind of.
–>Is she a lifter? Sure.
–>Is she a yogi? Yup.
She is all of these things and more.
Before Alli and I sat down to talk, I had a blast checking out her youtube channel. In one video she was deadlifting a heavy-ass barbell… in the next, she was sporting a pair of boxing gloves and going to town with cross training.
The point?
The point is: we should not focus 100% on just one aspect of fitness.
It will hold you back and it will end up hurting you in the long run.
But I know you don’t want to read my soapbox tantrum so instead I encourage you to listen to Alli and I talk all things fitness!
We also talked a lot about listening to your body and learning how to “revamp” your workouts, even if that means taking a break and walking a way for a bit.
Okay… show time!
Alli McKee’s View Of Fitness & Balance
Isn’t that more important?
I’ve never classified myself as anything. But I got to thinking, maybe we should coin a title for such training…
How about, we are…
Fitaissance Women?
You know, dabbling our toes in a bit of everything in order to create a balanced program that works for us, individually.
And with that, means there is no pressure to have to run, lift, stretch, dance, or whatever else. You do what you want!
Thanks Alli for the great interview! I can’t wait for future talks (yes, there may already be something in the works).
What Forms Of Fitness Make Up Your “Fitassance Woman”?
For me… Kettlebells, weight training, running, metabolic circuit training, and yoga (though I need more of this). Sure there are times that I focus more on one (or two) than another but I love all of these and I am always opened for trying new forms of exercise. In fact, Ashton and I have plans to try rock climbing soon!
