Friendly Friday: Fabulous Fall Finds

By admin

Yesterday morning I was slapped hard by something unexpected: Fall temperatures!

In Charleston, we don’t typically have a “fall”. Our hot, humid temperatures seem to last until one morning in late December when you wake up to freezing temps (well for us) letting us know that winter is here.

In fact, Fall is what Dan misses the most about the other cities he’s lived in.

Apparently that’s changed this year.

I woke up to a 66-degree crisp fall morning. And I was ecstatic!

I’m really trying to avoid all the pumpkin craziness until next week (the first official fall day is Sunday) but I can’t help but to fall into the season a little!

And because of that, I thought it would be fun to share some fabulous fall finds!

Candie Corn Wine Bottles: Brit.co

I love this idea from Brit.Co for our back porch. I think we might have to have a little fall dinner party just so I can decorate the house more!

{Vegan} Cinnamon Apple Bread

Once you’ve had fresh, hand picked apples, the apples in the store just don’t compare. After last years experience, I don’t know how I’ll get my apple fix but I know I’ll be making lots of this apple bread! Seriously, this is my favorite treat… and I’m a bit upset I have to wait 27 more days until I can make it (until the wheat-free challenge is over).

Falling For Fall Clothes

It’s no secret that my wardrobe needs some serious updating! I still have clothes in my closet from college (yes, over 7 years old)… it’s sad. I’ve made it a goal to look around at trends and get some ideas to revamp my attire.

I’m loving this look (which I found here on Pinterest)!

If anyone knows that brands are here, please let me know! I really need those shoes!

Those boots? That bag? I’m in love. Dan hates boots though… anyone else’s husband dislike fall/winter clothes?

Ginger Sage Butternut Squat Pumpkin Soup: kblog.lunchboxbunch

Wow, there isn’t anything in that title that doesn’t draw me in. I love the spice of ginger mixed with just about anything. If I throw my fall party, I see this as a starter… served in carved out pumpkin bowls! And it’s vegan!

Fall Inspired Smoothies: Eat-Spin-Run-Repeat.com

I am so glad that I ordered a new bag of protein this week. I foresee each of these in my future… my very near future.

First up will have to be the carrot cake smoothie!

What’s your favorite fall inspired food or flavor?

I know most people are excited about pumpkin, but personally I love apple cinnamon dishes. The flavors warm my heart. Cheezy but true.
