Kettlebell Core Repeat Workout

By admin

Is it only Thursday? I’m quite frankly ready for the week to be over.

It hasn’t been BAD, per se, however it’s been a bit disappointing. I mentioned a few weeks back that we’ve been planning a BIG hiking trip on the JMT for later this year? Well, it seems that the trip may have to be postponed.

There is a large El Nino sitting off the coast of California and the Sierra is expecting a very early winter. Basically, everyone I talked to said we would be crazy to follow through with our permit dates. And there are no spots available for earlier permits.

Ugh.

But it’s okay, we’ve got a few other options lined up and I plan to spend a lot of times this weekend finalizing a new trip.

Good thing I had not purchased our plane tickets yet!

But we’re both pretty bummed and vowed that next year the JMT will be ours!

Whenever I feel a bit down, I find getting in a great workout helps lift my spirits.

“Exercise gives you endorphins, endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don’t kill their husbands are just so much better!”

So that’s what I did this week. I got in a few really solid workouts, one that involved over 600 lunge jumps. Oh man, I felt like butt and hamstrings were screaming at me!

Don’t worry, the workout today isn’t 600 lunge jumps (maybe I’ll share that workout next week?)!

This week’s mini kettlebell workout is a core killer. I always think I have a strong core until I have to do core move, after core move, after core move. It’s then I realize I need some help!

Fun stuff right? I’m telling you, just one time through was quite the little challenge! But you’re a beast, so your goal is 2-3 times through.

And if you think this is good, you will love the FULL version of the workout. Oh man, I was left laying on my back by the end.

Okay… back to this workout:

Those hollow presses are no joke! They were my favorite element in this workout as I could feel my core straining and my arms/shoulders stinging with each rep. They were awesome!

Because this workout is short, really aim to push yourself. I know I give this talk a lot but that’s because it’s important. Don’t choose the weight you know you can do, choose the kettlebell that you THINK you can do!

If that means having to stop to rest a few times, then stop and rest a few times.

Yes?

Sweet! Go for it!

Love to hear your recommendations…

If you could go to any national park for a week or two, where would you go?

Right now we’re going between the Grand Canyon and Glacier National Park.
