New Things I’m Loving
By admin
TGIF! Any fun plans for the weekend?
I’ve got a girls night scheduled and a long run but other than that I plan on making it a productive weekend and hitting up my to-dos!
A little fun, a little fitness and a little work… the perfect blend.
Speaking of Blend, I am finalizing some plans but I will be going to the Blend Retreat in May. I’m pretty excited to see blogger friends (hence blends) and meet new ones! It is in Colorado this year, which has been my #1 national destination for years. Can’t wait, check it out!
That’s just one thing I am loving, there are so many more! I’ve been busy trying things out.
What I’m Loving
While a few items were delivered to me by companies, most of what you’ll find below are things I bought with my own hard earned money. Regardless of how I came to have these items in my possession, I am in love. It’s a love that may last forever.
With a name like that, how can it not be amazing? I saw a jar on someone’s Instagram and had to give it a try. This vegan, organic nut butter is off the chain. Filled with super foods like maca, raw almonds, raw chocolate, coconut sugar, cacao and vanilla beans, it will have you hooked at first spoonful.
Just a warning, the maca and raw chocolate does give it a bit a different taste than if it had Hershey’s chocolate chips, but it’s delicious none the less. So good in fact, I didn’t share any with Dan. Mine, mine, mine.
Oh and compared to “normal” nut butters is has fewer calories, just 150 in 2 tbsp compared with the normal 200.
The White Chocolate Raspberry is still my favorite, but these are pretty darn amazing too. Especially warmed up just for a few seconds. I’ll admit that I don’t think they taste so much like a Smore’s as much as they do cookie dough, but I’m not complaining. I’ll eat cookie dough any day!
And yes, after only being available in select cities, the bar is now everywhere! One of my clients found them in Mt Pleasant (for local readers) and surprised me! What a treat.
Yes, I finally gave in to the over advertised fitness apparel company. I love Kate Hudson and she just looked too darn cute on all the Facebook ads.
Then one of my clients had on the cutest workout top and when I asked where she got it she responded with “Fabletics” and then processed to gush about the company and her workout clothes for the rest of the workout (in a good way). So I couldn’t resist.
After taking a quick survey, I was shown several outfit suggestions. I loved everything and ended up choosing a fun pair of capris, a grey loose fitting tank and a black cardigan.
And I was amazed that it actually did look like this on. I have worn the tank a numerous times too!
I am in love with the cardigan and the grey tank. Actually a bit nervous that people don’t think I wash them! I promise I do!
Yes, it’s a monthly thing but you don’t have to buy anything at all if you don’t want to. You simply “skip this month” when you’re not feeling the choices.
Not an item but something everyone should get! A buddy.
I have many friends here in Charleston ready to sweat through a great workout with me. I’m blessed! I have lifting partners, running buddies and friends I just like talking about fitness to.
But why stop in Charleston? My friend (and fellow blogger) Bonnie could be my sister. We have so much in common but one thing… she lives in Canada.
That hasn’t stopped us from working out together. For the past three weeks, we’ve taken turns creating a “workout of the week” for each other. It holds us accountable and is a lot of fun to see what we each can come up with and push through.
These past weeks have been tough, and I’ve been so sore! Handstand walk-ups are no joke! I always forget about these babies! They burn but they are so much fun it was like recess for a workout this week.
What will I plan for next week? Hehehe.
I was in desperate need for a new pair of cross trainers. I love my Nike Frees but they were on their last leg. I had heard really great things about Inov-8s, they felt great on my feet so I went with them.
They’ve been amazing. It’s like walking on cotton balls! And I love that they’re designed for intense training… made sturdy to handle ropes, dragging feet and jumping all around. So far, it’s love!
Have you tried these? A ton of athletes at the Spartan Race had them on and couldn’t stop raving about them. Maybe they’ll help me in our next obstacle race?
I’m not going to lie, I am not a big bread person but being told I’m not allowed to eat it (while on this paleo challenge), has made me want it even more! Not so much now, but at first.
To help with those bread cravings, the nice people at Great Low Carb Bread Co offered to let me try their paleo friendly bread. It’s made with almond flour.
The bagels are delicious, a slight sweetness from the almond flour but light and chewy like a “normal” bagel. The cinnamon bread, while very small per slice, was also great and I loved eating it with fried eggs on top.
It’s not cheap, but for those times when all you want is a sandwich, it’s awesome to have on hand.
I love learning and trying new things…
