Adapter for converting a magazine-fed firearm to use linked ammunition: The advantage this adapter technology offers is that it allows smaller, lighter firearms to be utilized for sustained fire with little preparation time required. When belted ammunition is no longer needed, the adapter can be removed and a magazine inserted into the firearm for use. Though an AK-47 was used for this demonstration, the design of this device is not dependent on any one make of rifle and can be adapted for use with multiple types. *** Video notes: 1. As this demonstration was performed indoors the firing pin was removed from the rifle, hence the need for hand cycling of the rifle. Though the rounds are unspent you can clearly see them being ejected from the rifle as if they had been fired normally, in accordance with the function of the device. 2. Use of the adapter isn’t dependent on the tripod which was attached for convenience, primarily to make hand cycling easier. 3. United States Patent 8136440 issued March 20, 2012 patft.uspto.gov 4.
