Show Time: Jump Rope Madness Circuit Workout & Seasonal Foods To Grab

By admin

I felt “off” all week, I think it had to do with not doing a show. There was no way that was going to be repeated this week. Not only do I have a great Lifting Revolution Show today, I have a killer workout and some tasty spring recipes to share.

After talking with jump rope world champion and record holder, Adriene Banhegyi, I was inspired to grab my own rope and see what I could do.

Jump roping brings back memories of being a kid and creates some excitement, right? So let’s be kids again, grab your rope and do this total body circuit workout with me.

After a tough cardio workout, it’s time to refuel. Just like spring blossoms, the farmer’s markets are opening up one by one right now. And that of course means local fare is available. But what’s good and what can you expect to find?

It’s all on today’s show. Just a heads up, the video is a few minutes longer than normal because I filmed the workout, instead of just showing the exercises. That way there is no question as to what you should be doing.

Welcome Back Farmer’s Market

farmers market charleston

After a few months of being forced to buy frozen veggies and grocery store produce, many of us are seeing the return of our local farmer’s markets.

Yay!

Are you nervous that it’s too early in the season to wake up early on a Saturday morning just to end up with not quite ripe foods? Don’t be!

Spring Produce:

Kale and other rich leafy greens (Recipe: Chicken & Kale Sauté)

Lettuce

Root veggies (carrots, beets, etc)

Asparagus

Onions (Recipe: Marinated  Tomatoes, Cucumber & Onions)

Berries

Avocados (West Coast)

And one I forgot to mention: Mushrooms. Due to heavy rain fall, we have tons of fresh, local mushrooms available right now. (Recipe: Herby Tempeh (or Chicken) topped with marinated mushroom sauce)
